I can't believe I completely forgot to add in something else important that happened during the trip. I just realized. So I guess I'll add this in as another journal entry to follow up the last one.
On Sunday, I came out to one of my cousins as being bisexual. It was the first time I've ever come out to anyone in person; the only other two "real life" people I've told was via online conversations. I was super nervous, but this cousin of mine is gay (the only other not-straight member of our family), so I wasn't worried about him rejecting me. I still wasn't quite sure what he'd do or say, and I have to trust that he knows enough to not let word of it get back to my parents. But it went well.
We were walking between the cabins where we were staying, and I pretty much just ended up blurting it out. I'd been thinking about telling him for a long time and couldn't stand putting it off, so I just went ahead and said it. He was happy to hear about it and gave me a hug. Asked me a couple questions, and that was about it. He said he was glad that I was one of the first people he came out to, and that I could do the same with him.
It was nice to be open with him about it.
I got really shaky though because I was so nervous, lol. My legs felt like gelatin and I almost tumbled down the steep hill. Probably would have been better to wait until I was on flat ground to tell him.
