On Thursday we went to the beach and a couple treasure museums. The weather was really nice; it's finally starting to cool down a bit more around here. It was cool and windy and overcast. My kind of day. ^^
On Friday we drove to a state park further up in northern Florida, right by St. John's River. We went on a pontoon boat ride down the river which was really relaxing. We had great weather that day too. There were a handful of animals around the river banks. We saw several alligators (both adults and babies), a raccoon, lots of fish, and a bunch of different birds. But the coolest thing was that there were manatees everywhere. Apparently it's the time of year where the manatees gather in that area. The park had counted a total of 102 manatees there that morning. There were some parts of the river that were crystal clear, and you could see these clusters of manatees everywhere in the river. I've never seen so many manatees in one place before. I've only ever seen one or two in a place at a time, and on rare occasions at that.
It was cool. :3
We also heard a lot of stories and information about the manatees while we were on the boat ride, and I have to say, they're pretty cool creatures. I've never really thought much of them before when I've seen them at aquariums and stuff, but they have some really interesting social interactions. The More You Know. =★
